The date and time of the Floyd Mayweather versus Victor Ortiz fight, titled as Star Power, is on Saturday, September 17th at 9pm ET or 6pm PT.
The undefeated 21-year-old replacement boxer is a light welterweight who hails from Tlalnepantla, Mexico City, Mexico. Also known as "El Demoledor", Pablo Cesar Cano is expected to be one of Mexico's fast-rising stars which include Saul Alvarez, who is also part of the undercard of this split-site event; Alvarez vs Gomez will be at the Staples Center.
In his latest fight in June, Pablo Cesar Cano was knocked down in the first round by Pablo Lugo. He battled back and relentlessly hit Lugo with solid punches in the following rounds. In the 6th round, Pablo Cesar scored a knocked down against Lugo. In the 7th round, the fight was stop because Cano's opponent cannot continue to fight anymore - Pablo Cesar won a 7th round TKO (Technical Knockout).
On September 17, Cano will fight Mexican-legend and future hall of famer Erik "El Terrible" Morales. He will be in for the greatest fight of his life. Morales vs Cano will be for the vacant WBC (World Boxing Council) Welterweight Title. It will be at the MGM Grand Arena prior to the Ortiz vs Mayweather fight on the same venue.

He is the highest-available ranked opponent by the WBC in the 140-pound weight class," said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. "He has a tremendous punch and he's an all-action fighter. We wanted to make sure that the replacement for Matthysse was going to be an opponent that would make this a fight that we could be proud of because that's what the fans on this very special weekend will want, expect and deserve," he added.
Cano (22-0-1, 17 KOs) will be a tough opponent for Erik Morales - similar to the relieved Lucas Matthyse. Morales last fought and lost to Argentinean Marcos Rene Maidana in April this year. With all the efforts he put to his battle against hard-hitting Maidana, Erik was praised by media, fans and experts even though he did not won the interim WBA World light welterweight title
Next week, Morales vs Cano will surely be another interesting fight. This will be another fight that can entertain the fans prior to the Mayweather vs Ortiz fight.
