CNN will broadcast HBO's 24/7 Mayweather-Ortiz Series

The first episode of the Mayweather-Ortiz 24/7 will start on Saturday, August 27. It will air at Midnight ET/PT on CNN/U.S. The regular HBO 24/7 Episode 2, HBO 24/7 Episode 3 and HBO 24/7 Episode 4 will be broadcasted on the following Saturdays except for the final episode which will be televised on Friday, September 16, the night before the Mayweather vs Ortiz mega-fight will finally happen.

HBO's 24/7 is an Emmy-Award-winning reality TV series which features the lives of both boxers - this all new four part series will be about Floyd Mayweather Jr and Victor Ortiz. 24/7 has earned 14 Sports Emmys for production excellence, making it the most honored sports series on television since its inception.

Floyd Mayweather Jr, a Grand Rapids, Michigan native, lives and trains in Las Vegas, Nevada, while Victor Ortiz, a Mexican-American, is based in his hometown of Ventura, California. CNN will present all four episodes, the all-access, behind-the-scenes pass that allows spectators to step into the lives of both Mayweather and Ortiz before they step into the ring on September 17 inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, which has a seating-capacity of 16,800.

This will be Victor Ortiz's first appearance in a 24/7 series while this will be Floyd's fifth. Ortiz is considered as Boxing's newest star after defeating Andre Berto and acquiring the WBC Welterweight Belt. On September 17, Victor will put this belt on the line against Mayweather, who last fought 16 months ago.

Mayweather Jr (41-0, 25 KOs) is 34 years old but he is still considered as one of the best and brightest boxers in this generation. He has won titles in different weight classes and he is one of the most precise when it comes to punching.

Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KOs) is 24 years old who has the size and youth advantages over Floyd. He will do everything to defeat Mayweather to get the limelight of the sport of boxing.

HBO 24/7 Episode 1 will air on CNN on Saturday, August 27 at midnight ET/PT, following the HBO premiere at 10p ET/PT. Episode two will air on CNN on Saturday, September 3 at 12 midnight ET/PT. Finally, episodes three and four will air back-to-back on CNN on Friday, September 16 at 12 midnight ET/PT, less than 24 hours before the mega-fight in Las Vegas.
