Movie theaters will show Mayweather-Ortiz

Golden Boy Promotions, a company owned by Oscar de la Hoya who is a former opponent of Mayweather, is enduring its drive of providing their gigantic pay-per-views across movie theaters countrywide as the endorsement today established tactics to convey Mayweather vs Ortiz to the big screen.

The complete PPV will be available in HD (high definition) in almost 400 select theaters in the United States. Golden Boy Promotions teamed up once again with NCM Fathom.

Golden Boy's first pay-per-view to hit theaters was the broadcast of Marquez vs Mayweather in 2009, where Floyd Mayweather Jr won in a lopsided manner. It was followed by four more telecasts in 2010, which included Mosley vs Mora PPV last September.

“Watching the fight on the big screen in movie theaters across the country is a fantastic way to experience a mega-fight like [Floyd] Mayweather vs. [Victor] Ortiz, [Saul Alvarez] Canelo vs. [Alfonso] Gomez and [Erik] Morales vs. [Lucas] Matthysse, all on Mexican Independence Day weekend,” said Richard Schaefer, CEO Golden Boy Promotions in a report by Ramon Aranda on Examiner.com “It is great to work with NCM Fathom again to bring championship boxing to the big screen in an unparalleled level of entertainment.”

Aside from HBO, CNN will also show the 24/7 to help promote the upcoming fight. Ring life video by HBO has already been released as well as the expert predictions and fan predictions.

Boxing fans who want to watch the Ortiz vs Mayweather fight can purchase tickets to the closed circuit viewings at www.FathomEvents.com. A comprehensive list of participating theaters is also available on the website.

“If there’s one thing people know about me, it’s how much I enjoy performing on a big stage and in this case, the big screen,” said Mayweather. “Fans in the theaters can expect a great night of boxing from me and the rest of the stars on the show that night, but I have no doubt that my star will shine the brightest."

The undercard will also feature Mexican Josesito Lopez taking on fellow Mexican Jesse Vargas. The event will take place on Saturday, September 17 and will begin at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

Based on the expert predictions on Mayweather-Ortiz, Floyd is heavily favored to win. The fight is expected to be very entertaining in the first few rounds but Mayweather will prevail in the later rounds. Ortiz is a younger and bigger boxer compared to Floyd and he will give the undefeated American a lot of problem when they fight each inside the ring but he is foreseen to lose the fight.

Watch Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz in the movie theater - if you have not bought the MGM Grand tickets - and you’ll never regret it.
