Oscar has formula to defeat Mayweather

Only two boxers came close to winning against Floyd Mayweather Jr., they were Oscar de la Hoya and Jose Luis Castillo. The closest to defeating Floyd Jr was Oscar in May 5, 2007 where the fight was ruled a split decision in favor of Grand Rapids native.

Oscar de la Hoya is the president of Golden Boy Promotions, a competitor of Top Rank Promotions and Don King Promotions. Oscar, even though he lost to Mayweather four years ago, said that he knows the formula to defeat Floyd "Money" Mayweather and he will reveal it to Victor Ortiz.

De la Hoya and Ortiz are good friends and they are both Mexican-Americans. Several years ago, de la Hoya is the prize fighter who always fights in the weekend after Mexican Independence Day; this time, it will be Ortiz's moment.

"Me and Castillo have been the closest in beating Mayweather. Believe me I have the formula which I'm going to pass on to Victor," de la Hoya posted on his Twitter account.

De la Hoya is a 10-time world champion and he one of the most popular boxers in his generation. He retired from the sport after fighting Manny Pacquiao and suffering from an 8th round TD (Technical Decision).

The Mayweather vs Ortiz fight is set to happen atop the ring inside the luxurious MGM Grand Arena in the sin city. It will be Floyd's 1st bout after a 16-month break from boxing; his last fight was against Shane Mosley in May 2010.

"I'm not anti-mayweather I'm just rooting for the underdog," de la Hoya added to his tweets.
