When Arum flew to the Philippines to celebrate Pacquiao’s birthday he brought 3 contracts/opponents for Manny to choose, they were Juan Manuel Marquez, Andre Berto and Shane Mosley. Manny Pacquiao, obviously with the convincing power of Arum and his adviser Michael Koncz, decided to settle on Shane Mosley because he is the most popular among the three. Pacman suggested moving the date to May 7, the weekend after the Mexican’s Cinco de Mayo. This is a better date because Pacquiao had to settle his congress duties first before preparing to fight against the 3-division world champion Shane Mosley.
