It's the first day of September and many of the boxing fans all over the world are already excited to see the mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Victor Ortiz.
The Mayweather vs Ortiz fight is just around the corner. It will happen atop the squared circle inside the majestic MGM Grand Hotel and Casino on September 17, 2011. Victor, who recently won the WBC Welterweight from Andre Berto last April 16, will defend his belt against the undefeated Floyd Jr.
Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr is a future hall of famer because undisputedly he is one of the best in the sport today, if not of all time. He is returning to the ring after 16 months of inactivity from the sport because many of his boxing fans around the globe are anxious to see him fight again. Although many are expecting him to fight Manny Pacquiao when he returns, he chose Victor Ortiz instead.
Victor Ortiz is a fast-rising Mexican-American boxing star. He is a well-rounded boxer who has won against hard-hitters and agile boxers. The only time his career was questioned was during the time he fought and lost to Marcos Maidana.
After the release of several "hype-up" videos including Episode 1 of 24/7 Mayweather-Ortiz, Face-off with Max Kellerman and Experts Predictions, boxing fans can no longer wait for the fight to happen. Episode 2 of 24/7 Mayweather vs Ortiz will be on Saturday, September 3.
Tickets are already sold-out. The only tickets available are at the black market were prices are doubled or even tripled the original.
Floyd Mayweather is predicted to win this fight either by unanimous decision or late round knockout. But Ortiz will be different from Floyd's previous opponents. Victor is a determined lion who never backs out from any exchange of punches and he will do everything to bring the belt back home.
This will be Victor Ortiz's biggest fight so far. If he pulls an upset on this fight, he will bring a huge amount home plus he will get the spotlight of the sport. His chances of fighting Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao will be higher and his name will be highly recognized in the sport.
Mayweather vs Ortiz is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Mayweather Promotions, Tecate, MGM Grand and HBO PPV. The promoters are doing everything just to achieve their expected number of close to 2 million PPV buys. The highest number of PPV sale in recent event was the Floyd Mayweather versus Oscar de la Hoya which garnered over 2.4 million pay-per-views.
On September 17, we will see who will win in this one big event. Good luck to both Floyd and Victor and may you give the boxing lovers a night to remember.
