Undefeated American Floyd Mayweather Jr discusses about his ring strategies in his fights with the previously undefeated Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton and Mexico's number one boxer Juan Manuel "El Dinamita" Marquez as he prepares to face Victor Ortiz for the WBC (World Boxing Council) Welterweight Belt. Mayweather vs Ortiz will be on Saturday, September 17th only on HBO pay-per-view.

"In the Hatton fight, Ricky was all coming to play a lot of pressure - because every fighter has a game plan to apply a lot of pressure. Pressure, pressure, pressure. My thing is just to be me. Be the Floyd Mayweather and stick to what I've been doing," said Mayweather who knocked Hatton down in the 11th round of their fight. "I felt in my heart once I dropped him then he got up, I feel that the fight was over. When he got up he's still was kinda weary. I'm glad that Joe Cortez gave him the chance to keep fighting - a guy who has fought his whole life to get to that point - you got to give him a chance, you got to give him the opportunity."


Struggles in life brought Ortiz on top

All of his life, Victor Ortiz has fought the big fights - most of them outside of the boxing ring - and he won almost all of them. He is the second of three children of Mexican parents who went to Garden City, Kansas where a large number of about 27,000 Mexicans live today.

Victor will fight Floyd Mayweather Jr on September 17 in Las Vegas and many of his neighbors are expected to fly with him and support when he defends his WBC Welterweight Belt in the Mayweather vs Ortiz fight.

Victor was just seven years old when his mother left the family. When he was thirteen, his father also left them because of alcohol addiction.


First five rounds crucial for Ortiz to beat Mayweather

Everyone knows "Vicious" Victor Ortiz is an all-out fighter who doesn't back out from any exchange of punches. He scored a knocked against most of his previous opponents inside the ring. Many boxing analysts and fans believed that the only way for him to win against Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr is to give everything he's got in the first five rounds of the Mayweather vs Ortiz fight. Experts predict that Mayweather will win but this will be a very entertaining fight.

The first few rounds of the Mayweather vs Ortiz fight will be very crucial because both pugilists still have solid strong punches that can KO the opponent with just one punch. Mayweather is expected to study the moves and punches of Ortiz in the first two rounds so he can work on his game plan in the middle rounds until the end of the fight.

Only way for Ortiz to win is by KO

A lot of boxing lovers out there believed that underdog Ortiz has a chance to win against heavy-favorite Floyd Mayweather Jr. According to many comments found on forums and other social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, Victor Ortiz can win against Floyd if he goes for the KO. If the fight goes the distance, it will be a sure win f Mayweather because he has better defense and throws accurate punches.

Knockout artist Victor Ortiz is one of the few boxers today that still has the killer instinct. In his 29 wins, 22 are won via stoppage. He has a higher KO percentage compared to American Floyd Jr.

Aaccording to boxing fan Eddie Pullman, Victor Ortiz must KO Floyd Mayweather Jr or he will lose on the score cards, round after round. Ortiz has the power to get it done but he cannot outbox Floyd. So if Ortiz does not KO Floyd, it's another victory for Mayweather.


Fans are already excited to watch Floyd vs Victor

It's the first day of September and many of the boxing fans all over the world are already excited to see the mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Victor Ortiz.

The Mayweather vs Ortiz fight is just around the corner. It will happen atop the squared circle inside the majestic MGM Grand Hotel and Casino on September 17, 2011. Victor, who recently won the WBC Welterweight from Andre Berto last April 16, will defend his belt against the undefeated Floyd Jr.

Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr is a future hall of famer because undisputedly he is one of the best in the sport today, if not of all time. He is returning to the ring after 16 months of inactivity from the sport because many of his boxing fans around the globe are anxious to see him fight again. Although many are expecting him to fight Manny Pacquiao when he returns, he chose Victor Ortiz instead.
