Rematch clause on fight between Mayweather and Ortiz

According to Michael Marley of Examiner.com, "Vicious" Victor Ortiz agreed to a rematch section in order to get the September 17 fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand Garden Hotel and Casino.

Victor Ortiz will defend his WBC Welterweight Belt against Floyd in a fight which doesn't have any "catch-weights", unlike most of Pacquiao's recent fights. He also hopes to fight Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao next year if he is able to win against the undefeated boxer from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ortiz is definite that he will win against Mayweather in September. Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer, also agrees that Ortiz will be the first boxer to beat Mayweather Jr.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Golden Boy Promotions, Richard Schaefer, insists that "Vicious" Victor Ortiz will defeat Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. on September 17, 2011 at the Luxurious MGM Grand Garden Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

"I don't think the (Mayweather vs Pacquiao) fight is going to happen. And I don't think that it's not going to happen because Mayweather doesn't want to do it or Pacquiao doesn't want to do it....or the split or the drug testing. I'll tell you what's going to be the reason on why the fight is not going to happen. The reason is - Victor Ortiz is going to beat Floyd Mayweather." said Schaefer in an interview with Boxingscene.com.

Erik Morales on Mayweather vs Ortiz Undercard

Erik "El Terrible" Morales has finally declared his next fight. He will be part of the undercard of the much-discussed fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Victor Ortiz this September 17 on HBO pay-per-view.

Erik Morales (51-7, 35 KO), the last pugilist to win against ring icon Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines, will fight UK lightweight Anthony Crolla (21-2, 9 KO). The fight is expected to be at the 140-pound weight class.

In his last fight against Marcos Rene Maidana, Erik Morales showed the world that he still has the power and speed even at the age of 34. He gave Maidana a hard-fought fight after suffering a hard-punch, which led to the large lump on top of his eye, in the first few rounds of that fight. He was tagged as brave and fearless after that battle and many Mexicans were proud of his performance even though he lost.

Anthony Crolla, 24 years old , won the vacant British lightweight in February.
