Pacquiao is advised to loosen up a bit

Recently, Manny Pacquiao was just too intense in training according to his celebrated trainer Freddie Roach. “The problem now is slowing him down,” said the four-time trainer of the year. He requested Pacquiao to take a full day rest and relax. Roach is already satisfied with Pacquiao’s performance when he sparred with Ray Beltran and Shawn Porter a couple of days ago.

Pacman, a congressman in Sarangani Province in the Philippines, just doesn’t want to stop in his intensive training for the upcoming Pacquiao vs Mosley fight which is set to happen on May 7 (May 8 in Manila). Even though he enjoyed training hard a lot, he might overwhelm his body causing him to perform poorly on fight night.

Strength and conditioning Coach Alex Ariza believes that Pacquiao will be too fast and too strong for Shane when they square off next week. He wants to make his ward relax a bit to avoid any muscle spasms or body malaise.

The only reason why Pacquiao is very intense in training is that he is not taking Sugar Shane lightly. He knows how fast and strong this veteran ring warrior is and he knows how badly Mosley wants to win this fight.

“I’m just so eager to prove people wrong and I want to beat a guy like Manny Pacquiao,” Shane Mosley said.

Team Pacquiao will close their training camp in Hollywood, California at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym and fly to Las Vegas on Monday afternoon to continue their training.

“The following training will be more relaxed and soft. Manny is ready to fight Shane and I am confident he can knock him out in the middle rounds,” Roach said.

Pacquiao will defend his WBO (World Boxing Organization) Welterweight Belt against Sugar Shane Mosley at 147 pounds. Pacquiao who is also known as the catch-weight king, no longer has a catch-weight clause in the contract. He will now fight in a weight where he is comfortable and Mosley has formerly defended his championship belt many times.

Pacquiao and Mosley are volume punchers and many of the boxing fans believe that this fight will be very entertaining because both men are warriors. They both throw a lot of punches and never back out in every exchange.
