The Money made the Sugar sour

One thing I could say after watching the Mayweather vs Mosley fight was that it was one hell of an irksome match (but was not as boring as the Pacquiao vs Clottey fight).

During the first round I expected Mayweather vs Mosley to be at a slow pace so both boxers will know what the strategy of the enemy is. But when Mosley started to throw punches and moved forward a lot, Mayweather did his counter-punching and was the better man. I was excited when the second round started as the heat is already ON during the first round. On the second round, Mosley hits Mayweather with an accurate right hook and continued with his swarming combinations. Mayweather wobbled and appears very hurt. The crowd continued to cheer for Mosley until the end of the round. The third round made Mayweather more aggressive to throw his left jabs and defended his head and body carefully. Mosley was now hesitant to throw more punches as Mayweather will only counter-punch him with his sudden blows to both body and head. Starting round 4, I begin to feel sleepy as I don’t know why Mosley is backing from Floyd. He was no longer the boxer when he was at round 2. Floyd began to punish Mosley from round 4 up to round 12. I was really expecting Mosley to fight to death until the 12th round but I was disappointed. Mosley was ripped, tormented, tortured and racked by Mayweather. He was no longer the same Shane Mosley I saw when he fought 3 years ago, I think it’s time for him to hang up his gloves and enjoy his big paycheck. Mayweather was getting better at both his defense and offense. His lateral movements and footwork were great.

Mayweather vs Mosley Trainers

Uncle Roger Mayweather and Floyd Mayweather Sr, did a great job of training Floyd Jr. to his full potential. Naazim Richardson was also a good trainer but the “towel” just wasn’t enough to beat the “money”. Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley embraced each other after the fight, showing everyone that they are still friends. Floyd approaches Naazim Richardson to shake hands but the latter refused.

What will happen next?

After the Mayweather vs Mosley fight, there’s one thing I see happening later this year, any bet? I think a Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight will happen and Mayweather will continue with his urine and blood testing request. Manny Pacquiao will decide after the May 10 elections in the Philippines and will discuss with his family if he is going to fight in the boxing ring.

Floyd Mayweather has done it again! Floyd Mayweather won in the Mayweather vs Mosley bout. Floyd is not just a boxer but an “entertainer”. Even though I got bored because all this time I was expecting Mosley to be the better slugger, but Mayweather showed me that he is not all shoulder curls and counter-punching but can also be a brawler and an offensive boxer. I hope Mayweather vs Pacquiao will finally be settled so the boxing fans will see the real mega-fight in the history of boxing. As for Shane Mosley, it has been a good journey as a boxer for him. He had great fights with prime fighters and he will surely be in the boxing hall of fame.
