Several reasons why Mosley beats Mayweather

Mayweather vs Mosley is one of the biggest boxing fights this year and may possibly beat the PPV and audience numbers of Pacquiao vs Clottey.

The unbeaten Floyd "Money" Mayweather may suffer his first defeat on May 1, 2010 and I have several valid reasons why Sugar Shane Mosley beats him in the upcoming "Who R U Pickin?" Mayweather vs Mosley bout.

Stamina and Conditioning
Both fighters based on their previous fights gets a lot stronger and better at the later rounds. Floyd who is always focused on getting good stamina in a boxing match may have a slight edge against the older Mosley. But on Mosley's notable fights such as against Margarito and Cotto, his punching power was getting stronger and more accurate in the late rounds.

Chin
I picked Mosley to be better on this one. I only seen Shane Mosley got on the canvass once in his entire career. He has encountered a lot of bigger and stronger opponents with KO abilities but has never been to the canvass again. Mayweather who is noted to be a Cherry Picker and chooses Light Punchers have been rocked by DeMarcus Corley and Zab Judah. I anticipate Mosley to have a technique to penetrate that shoulder roll defense of Mayweather.

Size & Strength
Mosley is the bigger and stronger boxer of the two. No doubts. He has been noted to do more than 300 bench presses. Mosley is naturally a bigger man and can come up the ring 8-10lbs bigger than Mayweather.

Punching Power
I don't see this as a fire fight. As Mayweather is more into defending his face, body and counter-punching. But if ever this fight ends up a real brawl, Mayweather may suffer a KO loss. Mosley's fire fight with Dela Hoya and Margarito may have been one of his most exciting matches.

Defense
Both fighters are very elusive and both are hard to punch but I give more score to Mayweather. Mosley is more hittable but not that hard to hit too.

Speed
I don't see speed as the real factor of this game. I give Mosley a slight edge but I don't discredit Mayweather's fast reflexes. The last 3 fights of Mayweather (against Marquez, Hatton and dela Hoya) may have been his 3 largest fights but his speed is no longer the same when he was at 130 lbs. Mosley even at welterweight had maintained and even improved his speed.

Experience
No doubt, Shane Mosley is better and overall he has fought better and stronger fighters. He has fought dela Hoya twice and won the first one convincingly and the second one controversially. Shane fought Wright and Forrest twice and lost also twice to each fighter.

Mosley won against Ricardo Mayorga who incidentally stopped Vernon Forrest and fought Miguel Cotto with a very slight margin loss. Mosley's fight against the controversial Antonio Margarito (for his hand-wraps) has made no doubt he is one of the best welterweights. His win against Fernando Vargas was one of his best. He never turned down bigger and stronger opponents.

Mayweather on the other hand may have won against prime fighters such as dela Hoya, Hatton and Marquez but all three are no longer at their peak. The fight against Zab Judah was one of Mayweather's best. The win against Carlos Baldomir and Shamba Mitchell were also impressive.

Conclusion
My personal prediction in the Mayweather vs Mosley fight is a KO win for Mosley, stopping Mayweather between 8th-11th round. If ever this fight ends in Decision, It would be a UD for Mosley. Mosley can bring more impression to the judges because he punches more and most of them are accurate. Mayweather is fighting against the more experienced brawler. He may think that Mosley is already too old for him at this part of his career but nevertheless, it will still be an all out war. Mosley has studied Mayweather's moves and has designed some strategies to penetrate the evasive, elusive, & great defense of Floyd Mayweather.
